Katie and Cara’s wedding was a dream! Who says your wedding has to be “traditional”? There are so many fun and unique ways to celebrate your special day in whatever modern way you want! For these two, it was all about breaking the barriers of stereotypical gender roles and expectations. For the ceremony, instead of having flower girls throwing flower petals, they had their #AisleEntourage equipped with bubble guns to help create a magical atmosphere. Of course they had their fur baby in attendance serving as their ring bearer, and each bride chose to walk the aisle unaccompanied to show their independence and strength as an individual even as part of their union.

One of the most unique choices that Katie and Cara chose was to do a Pet Adoption toss in lieu of a bouquet or garter toss. They had a stuffed animal that they threw together, to toss to any guests who were interested in adding a fur baby to their lives. This idea was so great because guests didn’t have to feel limited to participate by their gender or relationship status, and there are so many animals in need of a loving home the it’s a win-win for everyone!

Weddings can be expensive especially once you start adding up the costs of all of your vendors. For this special day they were all about looking for little ways to help keep costs to a minimum. The aisle decorations were repurposed as the center pieces for dinner. They had a seating chart, but chose to forego place cards to save on paper and printing costs. They also opted for digital invitations and RSVPs, because welcome to the technology era! All of the decorations including the welcome sign, aisle decorations/table center pieces, seating chart, table numbers, favors, and photo booth backdrop were all DIY’d and handmade by the couple and members of the wedding party.
